Posterolateral Orbitotomy

In some surgeries, the surgeon may push or pull the brain to access certain parts of the brain. But there is an alternative method for this condition, which is known as posterolateral orbitotomy and is performed through the base of the skull.

In this video, the patient is treated with this alternative method.

To perform this procedure, a piece of the skull is removed so that it reaches the roof of the eye and through that it is possible to enter other parts of the brain more easily.
